Lost to Yale University, USA by 4 lengths
After drawing Yale University we knew this was going to be a tough race. We went in with the race plan to go off hard at the start, trying to get up a few seats and hang on from there. It turns out Yale had the same race plan, but were faster. We had a tidy start, winding up to the mid 40s and coming off the start at around 40 spm. Yale were moving ahead with each stroke, and off the end of the island we were half a length down. Yale moved out to a length ahead, at which point we put in a push to keep contact, but through the middle of the race Yale kept moving away. We gave it everything in the second half of the race but couldn't match Yale, who won by 4 lengths. A tough way to end the season, but a great season overall. Incredibly proud of what we've done this term, and already looking forward to next year!
